Youth Under the Rainbow Cozy Creations - In Person at Studio Artshine - Weekly Art Workshops (Winter Season)

Youth Under the Rainbow Art Workshops!

AGES 8-12 | COZY CREATIONS | MANY MEDIUMS!

Pre-registration is required. There is a limit of 15 spaces available for each week and a minimum of 10 registered for the class to run.

Create new projects every week! You can sign-up for individual classes or the entire season. Class registration for each individual class closes on the Thursday at 11:59PM before the scheduled class. Please make a note of all program details; an e-mail will be sent after registration, prior to each class.

Recommended for 2SLGBTQAI+ Youth, Friends & Allies. 🏳️‍🌈

With step-by-step instructions, join us as we learn together from our wonderful instructor Sonia Nadeau (She/Her), illustrator of multiple children's books and animation projects.

 What to Expect:
 ● Introduction to a variety of art techniques, mediums, and styles through exploration!
 ● Supportive Environment: we hope to promote an atmosphere that fosters creativity and promotes a safer and more inclusive space for all, with a specific focus on 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth, friends, and allies. Connect with fellow young artists, and share ideas.
 ● Skill Levels Welcome: Whether you’re a budding artist or have some experience, we do our best to cater to all skill levels. Everyone is invited to let their creativity soar!

*Projects will vary week-to-week and those in the thumbnails of this listing may not be indicative of projects taught in class. Please make sure to wear something you don't mind getting messy as some of our activities can be more involved than others.

Details 

Dates (6 Dates): January 11th, 25th, February 1st, 8th, 22nd, March 1st 2025

January 11th - Winter painting! Using acrylics, let's paint this lovely winter landscape with a nice, soft, pastel colour tone.
January 25th -  Using 3D pens and some colours we identify with (your flag or favorite colours) let's create an adorable baby dragon and other wonderful and fun creations!
February 1st - Anime yourself and embrace you! Using quality markers we will draw an anime self-portrait, or follow along with our example to make a wonderful new character!
February 8th - Fantastic digital art! Learning how to draw digitally can be a little challenging, We will do a few fun exercises first then create a little cat and balloons for special effects.
February 22nd - Acrylic paint pours! Let go of that perfectionist mind as we take this class to focus on colours. We will make more than 1 so come dressed for mess.
March 6th - Make your own cute little air-dry clay characters. Animals, people, anything cute and creative! We will make a little sloth as our example piece.

Day of the Week: Saturdays.

Time: 10:30am - 12:00pm please arrive 10 minutes early to join the class, late arrivals will not have access to entry into the building.

Location: Studio Artshine (44 Gaukel Street, Kitchener). When you arrive, please come to the front doors closest to Charles Street. The Artshine instructor or Spectrum representative will let you into the building, as the doors remain locked at all times. If you arrive late, please refer to the contact information in the downloaded welcome email sent to you after registration. 

Age: 8-12 years old.

Price: $14 + HST / participant per class.

*We never want cost to be a barrier to anyone - if it is please reach out to rea@ourspectrum.com so we can make this accessible for you.
